Our Story
Somewhere between fast fashion and fast everything else, the saree folded away in a mother's cupboard and the block-printed dupatta an aunt wore to every festival stopped being everyday clothing. We wanted to bring them back.
Where It Started
Sarees, kurtis, suit material, Patiala salwars — these were once part of every household's everyday wardrobe, not costumes brought out once a year. Somewhere along the way, that changed. We started Cotton India to put hand block-printed, naturally dyed cotton back into daily wear — the kind of clothing you reach for on an ordinary Tuesday, not just a wedding.
We're not trying to sell nostalgia. We're trying to make traditional Indian clothing feel current again — for the people who grew up wearing it, and for the ones who never really got the chance to.
For Every Generation
Our collection is built so a grandmother and her granddaughter can both find something that's genuinely theirs — not a "youth" line and a "traditional" line kept apart. Classic sarees and Patiala salwars sit alongside co-ord jacket sets and drapes styled for everyday wear. Same fabric, same craft, different silhouettes.
The idea is simple: traditional dressing shouldn't need a special occasion, and it shouldn't skip a generation either.
We make traditional Indian clothing for everyday life, not just for festivals and weddings.
